In the field of planetology, studies continued of Mars and Venus using Russian instruments carried on board Mars Express and Venus Express: the Planetary Fourier Spectrometer (PFS), Spectroscopy for Investigation of Characteristics of the Atmosphere of Mars (SPICAM), the Visible and Infrared Mineralogical Mapping Spectrometer (OMEGA), the Energetic Neutral Atoms Analyser (ASPERA), the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC), the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding (MARSIS).
وفي مجال علم الكواكب، استمرت دراسات المريخ والزهرة باستخدام الأجهزة الروسية المنقولة على متن إكسبريس المريخ وإكسبريس الزهرة، وهي: جهاز فوريير لقياس الطيف بين الكواكب (PFS)، وجهاز قياس طيف الأشعة لدراسة خصائص الغلاف الجوي للمريخ (سبيكام)، وجهاز قياس طيف الأشعة المرئية ودون الحمراء في رسم خرائط مكامن المعادن (أوميغا)، وجهاز تحليل الذرات المتعادلة الطاقوية (أسبيرا)، وآلة التصوير ذات العدستين العالية الاستبانة (HRCS)، ورادار المريخ المتقدم للسبر الجوفي وسبر الغلاف الجوي المتأين (مارسيس).
