• The Iraqi side, through its monitoring, observed near-constant activity and the drilling of wells no more than 50 metres from the boundary line. Advanced drilling techniques were used in order to increase considerably the production of the previously existing and new wells in the two frontier fields of Ratqah and Qubbat Safwan.

• By monitoring the situation, Iraq noted almost constant activity and the sinking of wells no more than 50 metres from the boundary line using advanced drilling techniques to double the output of old and new wells in the Ratkah and Safwan Dome fields in the border area. There came to be 23 wells, drilled and announced, in Ratkah and 17 in Safwan (Abdali).
  ومن خلال المتابعة لاحظ الجانب العراقي نشاطا شبه دائم حفرا لآبار لا تبعد عن خط الحدود أكثر من 50 مترا مع استعمال تقنيات حفر متطورة لمضاعفة إنتاج الآبار السابقة والجديدة في حقلي الرطكة وقبة صفوان الحدوديين وأصبح عدد الآبار المحفورة والمعلن عنها 23 بئرا في الرطكة و17 بئرا في صفوان (العبدلي).
