The Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) instrument will be used in meteorological operational (METOP) satellites, its advanced technology permitting measurements of temperature and humidity with a vertical resolution of 1 km and an accuracy of 1 degree K and 10 per cent humidity.
