The cumulative conditions for ordinary naturalization are 12 years of residence in Switzerland (years spent in Switzerland between the ages of 10 and 20 years count double), integration into the Swiss community, adaptation to Swiss lifestyle and customs, respect for the legal system, and the absence of risk to the internal and external security of the Confederation.
