This method can be expensive, as it requires moving the weapons to a port, packaging them in barrels or sea containers (drilled with holes to ensure that they sink and free air space being filled with concrete ballast), arranging for a ship with onboard crane facilities and passage to an area with a deep ocean trench, i.e., beyond the continental shelf.
وقد تكون هذه الطريقة مكلفة إذ أنها تتطلب نقل الأسلحة إلى ميناء وشحنها في براميل أو حاويات بحرية (مثقوبة لضمان أنها ستغرق وتعبئة الفراغات بصابورة من الأسمنت) والترتيب لوجود سفينة مجهزة برافعة وممر إلى منطقة الإغراق، في أعالي البحار، أي خارج حدود الجرف القاري.
