It was reported that in recent times, a large volume of natural and synthetic image and grid data had been generated and were becoming available, for example, data from current-image satellites, the European Remote Sensing (ERS) satellite, the Land Remote Sending Satellite (Landsat), RADARSAT and the Satellite pour l'observation de la Terre (SPOT).
