It is further proposed to establish one additional United Nations Volunteer position to assist the Chief of the Geographic Information Section. The proposed position will be responsible for: (a) operating and maintaining the Section's systems; (b) carrying out maintenance of the geo-database (ArcSDE (spatial database engine), Structured Query Language, relational database management system), integration of GPS data, imagery processing and spatial analysis; and (c) ensuring the dissemination of geographic information and mapping products to the Mission via Internet/Intranet as well as providing GPS training to Mission staff.
ويُقترح كذلك إنشاء وظيفة إضافية لمتطوع من متطوعي الأمم المتحدة لمساعدة رئيس نظام المعلومات الجغرافية وسيكون من مهام شاغل الوظيفة المقترحة ما يلي: (أ) تشغيل وصيانة نظم المعلومات الجغرافية للقسم؛ (ب) إجراء صيانة لقاعدة البيانات الجغرافية (محرك قاعدة البيانات المكانية، ولغة الاستفسار التركيبية، ونظام قاعدة البيانات العلاقية)، ودمج بيانات النظام العالمي لتحديد المواقع، ومعالجة الصور والتحليل المكاني؛ (ج) كفالة توزيع المعلومات الجغرافية والمنتجات المتعلقة بالخرائط على البعثة عن طريق شبكة الإنترنت/الإنترانت وتوفير تدريب على النظام العالمي لتحديد المواقع لموظفي البعثة.
