In order to effectively build new strategic alliances with development-based organizations and to strengthen links with the Millennium Development Goals, partnerships may need to be extended to include cooperation with a wider variety of international bodies, non-governmental organizations (working in the areas of environment, labour, trade and agriculture), development agencies and programmes and other philanthropic foundations and bodies.
