  ومن المدهش أن نشهد الاهتمام المفاجئ لتركيا ”بالحالة التي كانت قائمة في عام 1960“، رغم مواصلة نقض هذا البلد، ومنذ عام 1974، لمعاهدة إنشاء جمهورية قبرص ومعاهدتي التحالف والضمان، وذلك عن طريق الغزو العسكري وانتهاك السلامة الإقليمية لجمهورية قبرص واحتلال الجزء الشمالي من الجزيرة حتى الآن، في ازدراء صارخ لتعهده بمقتضى معاهدات عام 1960 بحظر النشاط الموجه نحو تشجيع تقسيم الجزيرة، وفي انتهاك سافر لميثاق الأمم المتحدة.
