• Under the new regulatory regime envisaged by Law 12/2003 any type of financial flow may be blocked in order to ensure that the funds are not used for the preparation or perpetration of terrorist acts; in particular, it allows the blocking of accounts, balances, financial positions, capital transactions and movements of capital, withdrawal, payment and transfer operations in which the persons involved on any basis (ordering, issuing, holding, receiving or benefiting therefrom) are individuals or entities associated with terrorist groups or organizations, or when the operation is carried out for the perpetration of terrorist acts or in order to contribute to the purposes being pursued by the terrorist groups.
