• The General Services Section is responsible for diplomatic mail and pouch operations, archiving and registry functions, travel operations, claims and property survey actions, property control and inventory accountability, receipt and inspection of goods and services, disposal of assets and administration of accommodation units provided by the United Nations.

• In March 2004, the Israeli authorities discontinued the prior practice of searching United Nations vehicles crossing from Jordan to the West Bank, a requirement which had prevented most UNRWA vehicles, including the courier vans carrying the Agency's diplomatic mail, from crossing the bridge, and had required costly and inefficient back-to-back arrangements.
  وفي آذار/مارس 2004، أوقفت السلطات الإسرائيلية الممارسة السابقة وهي تفتيش مركبات الأمم المتحدة التي تعبر من الأردن إلى الضفة الغربية، هذه الممارسة التي حالت دون عبور معظم مركبات الأونروا الجسر، بما فيها فانات البريد التي تنقل البريد الدبلوماسي للوكالة، والتي اقتضت ترتيبات ”ظهرا إلى ظهر“باهظة التكاليف وعديمة الكفاءة.
• The Organization and its goods, assets, premises and files enjoy immunity from legal and administrative process and exemption from all taxes and levies; its correspondence enjoys the same privileges and immunities accorded to diplomatic mail and pouches; staff and other persons working for the Organization are afforded facilities for the entry into the country as well as privileges and immunities.
  وتتمتع المنظمة وسلعها وأصولها وأماكن عملها وملفاتها بالحصانة من الإجراءات القانونية والإدارية وبالإعفاء من كافة الضرائب والجبايات؛ وتتمتع مراسلاتها بنفس الامتيازات والحصانات الممنوحة للبريد الدبلوماسي والحقيبة الدبلوماسية؛ كما تمنح للموظفين والأشخاص الآخرين العاملين لفائدة المنظمة تسهيلات للدخول إلى البلد، وكذا امتيازات وحصانات.
• The General Services Section is primarily responsible for diplomatic mail and pouch operations, for the archiving and registry function, for travel operations, for claims and property survey action, for property control and inventory accountability, for the receipt and inspection of goods and services as well as for the disposal of assets within the Mission.
  يتولى قسم الخدمات العامة أساساً المسؤولية عن عمليات البريد الدبلوماسي والحقيبة الدبلوماسية، وعن وظيفة الحفظ والتسجيل وعن إجراءات السفر والمطالبات وأعمال جرد الممتلكات ومراقبتها والمساءلة عن المخزون وتلقي السلع والخدمات والتحقق منها إضافةً إلى التصرف بالأصول داخل البعثة.
• The Section includes the Claims and Property Survey, Travel, Archives/Records Management and Reproduction, Mail/Diplomatic Pouch, Property Control and Receipt and Inventory Units.

• The Mail/Diplomatic Pouch Unit would be supervised by a Field Service officer supported by one United Nations Volunteer and two national staff.
  وسيشرف على وحدة البريد والحقيبة الدبلوماسية موظف من فئة الخدمة الميدانية يدعمه متطوع من متطوعي الأمم المتحدة وموظفان وطنيان.
• The Section in charge of the diplomatic pouch has been restructured (from Registry, Records and Mail Section to Mailing, Pouch and Inventory Section (MPIS)) and the Diplomatic Pouch Unit has become the Diplomatic Pouch and Mail Dispatch Unit (DPMDU).
  وقد أعيد تنظيم القسم المسؤول عن الحقيبة الدبلوماسية (من “قسم التسجيل والوثائق والبريد” إلى “قسم البريد والحقيبة والمخزونات”) وأصبحت وحدة الحقيبة الدبلوماسية “وحدة الحقيبة الدبلوماسية وتوزيع البريد”.
• The Section would include the following six units: Claims and Property Survey (including Board of Inquiry); Travel, Traffic and Visa; Registry and Archives; Mail/Diplomatic Pouch, Receiving and Inspection and Transit Camp Management.
  ويضم هذا القسم الوحدات الست التالية: وحدة المطالبات ومسح الممتلكات (تشمل مجلس التحقيق)؛ ووحدة السفر وحركة المرور والتأشيرات؛ ووحدة السجلات والمحفوظات؛ ووحدة البريد والحقيبة الدبلوماسية؛ ووحدة الاستلام والتفتيش، ووحدة إدارة معسكرات العبـور.
