• Any violation of international law, particularly the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, and the Geneva Conventions, should receive a strong and immediate response from the Security Council.

• In the present report, the independent expert calls on all the parties concerned, that is, the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the transitional organizations and bodies, the Congolese and foreign parties to the conflict, members of the international community, companies and groups with economic interests in the country, the African Union and the United Nations, to work, out of common humanity and in accordance with their obligations under international humanitarian law, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and international human rights instruments, to put an immediate stop to the violence, restore security and consolidate the democratic rule of law and sustainable development.

• (6) The Committee acknowledges with appreciation the wide ratification of international human rights instruments by the State party since the end of apartheid, in particular: the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and its Protocols; the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination; the Convention on the Rights of the Child; the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women; the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court; the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide; the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, and its Protocol; and the Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
  (6) وتعترف اللجنة مع التقدير بتصديق الدولة الطرف على عدد كبير من الصكوك الدولية لحقوق الإنسان منذ انتهاء الفصل العنصري، لا سيما: العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية وبروتوكولاه، والاتفاقية الدولية للقضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز العنصري، واتفاقية حقوق الطفل، واتفاقية القضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز ضد المرأة، ونظام روما الأساسي للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية، واتفاقية منع الإبادة الجماعية والمعاقبة عليها، والاتفاقية الخاصة بوضع اللاجئين وبروتوكولها، واتفاقية مكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية.
