On instructions from my Government and further to my letters, the latest being the letter dated 10 November 2000 (document S/2000/1087 dated 10 November 2000), I have the honour to inform you that, at 1600 hours on 15 November 2000, on a public road in the village of Adaysah close to the border fence opposite Miskaf'am hill, as Lebanese citizen Abbas Husayn Sulayman, a native and resident of Kafr Kalla, was unloading rocks and rubble from a truck, Israeli forces fired a number of machine-gun rounds in his direction from their position on the above-mentioned hill, as a result of which he was wounded in the left shoulder and was immediately transported to Marjayoun hospital, where he underwent surgery.
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، وإلحاقا بمراسلاتي وآخرها الرسالة المؤرخة 10 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2000 (الوثيقة S/2000/1087 المؤرخة 10 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2000)، أتشرف بإبلاغكم بأنه بتاريخ 15 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2000، الساعة 00/16، وعلى طريق عام بلدة عديسة بمحاذاة السياج الحدودي، مقابل تلة مسكفعام، وأثناء قيام المواطن اللبناني، عباس حسين سليمان، من مواليد وسكان كفر كلا، بتفريغ شاحنة محملة بالصخور والردميات، أطلقت القوات الإسرائيلية من مركزها في التلة المذكورة عدة طلقات نارية من أسلحة رشاشة باتجاهه، أدت إلى إصابته بطلق ناري في كتفه الأيسر، نقل على أثرها إلى مستشفى مرجعيون حيث خضع لعملية جراحية.
