Under the Programme for the Closure of Underground and Opencast Mines up to the Year 2000, it is proposed to lay off some 54,000 miners.

A programme to create jobs in the wake of underground and opencast mine closures has been adopted by the Ministry of the Coal Industry in order to create 43,000 new jobs for miners and members of their families.
وقد اعتمدت وزارة صناعة الفحم برنامجاً لتوفير فرص العمل في أعقاب عمليات إغلاق مناجم التعدين في باطن الأرض ومناجم التعدين السطحي المكشوفة، وذلك من أجل توفير 000 43 فرصة عمل جديدة لعمال المناجم وأفراد أسرهم.

In this regard, the STPS continues to supervise and enforce Official Mexican Regulations 003-STPS-1999, 006-STPS-2000, 007-STPS-2000, 008-STPS-2001 and 023-STPS-2003, relating to preventing pregnant or lactating women from: undertaking activities that expose them to phytosanitary inputs, pesticides or fertilizers; lifting heavy loads during pregnancy and in the first 10 weeks after childbirth; lifting weights heavier than 20 kg in normal circumstances; and preventing pregnant women from working in underground mines, or at the work face of opencast mines.
وواصلت وزارة العمل والضمان الاجتماعي في هذا الصدد التفتيش على الالتزام بالمعايير الرسمية المكسيكية 003-STPS-1999 و 006-STPS-2000 و 007-STPS-2000 و 008-STPS-2001 و 023-STPS-2003، المتعلقة بتجنب قيام الحوامل أو المرضعات بأنشطة معرّضة لمدخلات نباتية أو مبيدات للآفات أو مخصّبات؛ أو رفع أي أثقال في فترة الحمل وخلال الأسابيع العشرة الأولى بعد الولادة أو رفع أثقال تزيد على 20 كغم في الأحوال العادية، وكذلك تجنب عمل الحوامل داخل المناجم تحت الأرض أو في مكان العمل في هذه المناجم في العراء.
