The provision of $14,786,400 reflects requirements for the acquisition of communications equipment (VHF/UHF radios, base stations, VSAT, geographic information systems equipment) ($9,361,000), the Mission's share of transponder lease ($480,000), commercial communication charges for telefax and Internet ADSL fees ($867,600), United Nations Logistics Base leased lines and extensions ($72,900), satellite phone charges for 203 satellite phones ($2,175,000), communications support services for the VSAT and WAN infrastructure ($478,600) for 12 contractors at 9 months each, and communications spare parts and consumables based on 7.5 per cent of the total anticipated communications inventory in 2007 ($718,300).
