As you are aware there are links between the two issues, both a direct one, to the extent that the IEC law is part of that package, and an indirect one, the laying down of conditions by some of the parties: if those conditions were not met, they would not designate their representatives on the new Independent Electoral Commission.

It noted that according to the amended section 2 of the Labour Act the prohibition of discrimination against jobseekers and workers includes new grounds of sexual orientation and ethnic origin upon which discrimination is prohibited, in addition to the grounds of race, skin colour, marital status, family obligations, age, language, religion, conviction, social origin, wealth, birth, social position, political party membership or non-membership, trade union membership or non-membership and physical and mental difficulties (1); defines what is considered direct and indirect discrimination (2)(3); lays out exemptions (2a); set out provisions on harassment and sexual harassment (2b); establishes the right to damages in the event of discrimination (2c), and that the burden of the proof is upon the employer (2d).
ولاحظت أنه بموجب المادة 2 المعدلة من قانون العمل، يشمل حظر التمييز بين طالبي العمل والعاملين أسسا جديدة هي الميول الجنسية والأصل الإثني، وهي أسس يحظر التمييز عليها، إضافة إلى أسس العرق ولون البشرة والحالة الاجتماعية والواجبات الأسرية والسن واللغة والديانة والقناعات والمنبع الاجتماعي والثروة والمولد والمكانة الاجتماعية والعضوية/أو عدم العضوية في حزب سياسي والانتماء النقابي أو عدمه والمعوقات البدنية والعقلية (1)؛ ويحدد ما يعتبر تمييزا مباشرا وتمييزا غير مباشر (2) (3)؛ ويحدد الاستثناءات (2 أ)؛ وينص على الأحكام المتعلقة بالمضايقة والتحرش الجنسي (2 ب) ويقر الحق في التعويض في حالة وجود تمييز (2 ج) وأن مسؤولية الإثبات تقع على عاتق صاحب العمل (2 د).
