The dispute concerns the arrest of the fishing vessel Monte Confurco, flying the flag of Seychelles, which was apprehended by the French frigate Floréal in the exclusive economic zone of the Kerguelen Islands on 8 November for alleged illegal fishing and failure to announce its presence in the exclusive economic zone of the Kerguelen Islands.
