Introducing the report of the Secretary-General on international cooperation to reduce the impact of the El Niño phenomenon (A/56/76-E/2001/54), he said that, of all abnormal weather and climatic phenomena, El Niño was perhaps the most likely to lead to extensive and devastating natural events that could affect the entire globe.
وعرض تقرير الأمين العام عن التعاون الدولي لتخفيف أثر ظاهرة النينيو (A/56/76-S/2001/54)، فقال إن هذه الظاهرة، من بين جميع ظواهر الطقس والمناخ غير العادية، تبدو مؤهلة أكثر من غيرها لتسفر عن أحداث طبيعية شاملة ومدمّرة قد تؤثر على الكرة الأرضية بأسرها.
