• In some cases, the pharmaceutical services inspectorate carried out periodic monitoring, or the Ministry of Health operated a monitoring system based on counterfoil books of prescription forms issued by practitioners to ascertain details of the quality and quantity prescribed, the particulars of the practitioner, the patient, the place of sale and the person responsible for making the sale.

• The authorization is attested through the issuance of a corresponding permit and a copy of the counterfoil register indicating the identity of the holder, and the brand name and manufacture number of the weapon or, if not available, the number imprinted on it.

• Furthermore, the TIR carnet fulfils other evidentiary functions, such as under various provisions of the Convention that require customs authorities of the contracting States to record certain information on the TIR carnet vouchers used in their country, on the corresponding counterfoils and on the vouchers remaining in the TIR carnet, such as particulars of the seals affixed and of the controls carried out on the load of a road vehicle, combination of vehicles or container in the course of the journey or at a customs office en route (see arts. 24, 34 and 35).
