The Arab Monetary Fund, established in 1976 with a structure similar to that of IMF, comprises all members of the League of Arab States except the Comoros.

In May 2002, the Arab Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization signed a memorandum of understanding to provide technical assistance and capacity-building to enhance the participation of Arab countries in the multilateral trading system and trade negotiations.
