• My delegation wishes also to associate itself with the statement delivered by Mr. Rudolf Römer, Vice-Minister for Science and Technology of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, in which the information and communication technologies (ICT) revolution quite rightly was recognized as an effective instrument in the areas of economic growth, knowledge, education at all levels, eradication of poverty, empowerment of people, capacity-building, decision-making and promotion of sustainable development.
