If an instrument is payable to bearer, it may be negotiated by transfer of possession alone.

Article 4, paragraph 1 (b): France has always supported the exclusion of transfers of receivables effected by the delivery (instruments payable to bearer) or endorsement (instruments payable to order) of negotiable instruments.
