A team of nine inspectors left the Canal Hotel in Baghdad at 8 a.m. and arrived at the Qadisiyah dairy plant owned by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and located 180 kilometres south of Baghdad, in Qadisiyah governorate.

Recent joint projects included projects concerned with promotion of local manufacture of basic agricultural machinery in Sudan, assistance to Uganda in complying with European Union (EU) trade requirements, appropriate technology transfer in Ethiopia, rehabilitation of dairy plants in Iraq and dissemination of post-harvest technology in Burkina Faso.

Furthermore, the Commission has also considered that direct attacks on fuel storage tanks and petrol stations, as well as on factories such as the Maliban glass factory, the Sai El-Deen plastics facility and the Liban Lait dairy plant, among others, have created increased risks of pollution by chemical agents that may have contaminated water sources, arable land and the air, posing a direct threat to the health of the Lebanese population.
