Annexed to the present report is a descriptive list of some of my country missions.

The descriptions on the list are untranslated.

In contrast to quantitative research methods, which produce information that can be presented numerically, qualitative methods gather information that is presented primarily through narratives, verbatim quotes, descriptions, lists and case studies.

A descriptive list of the decisions and resolutions adopted by the Council, together with presidential statements, depicts an important part of the role played by the Council and its efforts to make its activities more open and transparent.

We also note the deletion of the descriptive list of all decisions, resolutions and presidential statements for the one-year period preceding the period covered by the current report, and we are pleased that the report no longer includes the verbatim account of the discussions on each subject dealt with by the Council during the period under consideration.

Regarding this support, we welcome the decision taken by the Secretariat to authorize UNMIK to recruit directly the civilian experts that it needs, and we are pleased to have already received a descriptive list of the posts and the jobs to be done.

To date, the descriptive list of unilateral declarations of various sources and types was insufficient as the basis for an authentic repertory of practice that could underlie the codification of the law relating to unilateral acts; as the Working Group had suggested, it would be more useful to construct an analytical framework to facilitate the work of synthesis.
