It was vital to preserve a people's identity, values and historical rights - sources of inspiration in the fight against racism; resist policies conducive to subjugation, hegemony and intellectual spoliation; and denounce the racist character of unilateral international sanctions.

One is the right to self-determination in the economic, social, cultural and political sense and the other is the right of people to control over their resources and wealth without undue spoliation and external domination.

3.3 The authors seek reparation for the spoliation of their property in the form of compensation, either directly on the part of Portugal or indirectly on the part of Angola through diplomatic channels.

Considering the sad information acquired about the African countries, the report presented at this Seminar, makes urgent and necessary to affirm that poverty and hunger are associated to educational and cultural questions and to the spoliation of natural resources by the harmful intervention of powerful world Economies.

Measures which result in murder, ill-treatment, enslavement and other inhumane acts perpetrated on prisoners of war, deportation, extermination, enslavement, persecution on political, racial or religious grounds, and plunder and spoliation of public and private property are acts which shock the conscience of every decent man.

Let us remember the recent victims of natural occurrences triggered by these spoliations resulting from imperialist global capitalism: the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the victims of the earthquake in Peru, the victims of the floods in Africa, the victims among the indigenous peoples — the Miskito and Mayan peoples — of Hurricane Felix, in Central America, Latin America and the Caribbean and the land of Sandino and Rubén Darío.
