According to the proponents of this view, countries that choose to be fully open to international capital flows have no viable alternative between, on the one hand, rigid pegging of the exchange-rate, such as the use of a currency board or dollarization (eliminating the domestic currency), and, on the other hand, free floating of the exchange-rate.
