Consequently, the health ministries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, meeting in Brasilia in July 1991, undertook to carry out the necessary work to eradicate Triatoma infestans and control the transfusional transmission of Chagas' disease.

With these results, and the shrinkage in the area where the Triatoma infestans is found, the International Specialists Committee set up by the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Southern Cone countries to assess the epidemiological situation in each country, awarded a certificate confirming the interruption of the vectoral transmission by T. infestans at its meeting in March this year to six Brazilian states: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraíba, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás.
وبعد هذه النتائج، والانحسار في المنطقة التي توجد فيها غشائيات الأجنحة، قامت لجنة الأخصائيين الدولية التي أنشأتها منظمة الصحة للبلدان الأمريكية وبلدان المخروط الجنوبي لتقييم الوضع الوبائي في كل بلد، بمنح شهادة تؤكد توقف نقل هذا المرض عن طريق غشائيات الأجنحة في اجتماعها لشهر آذار/مارس من هذه السنة إلى ست ولايات برازيلية: ساو باولو وريو دي جانيرو وبارايبا وماتو غروسو وماتو غروسو دو سول وغواياس.
