A sickness benefit is granted to a person, irrespective of the latter's gender, if it fails to come to work and thus loses incomes that are earned in salaried employment; or if a self-employed person loses incomes due to the following causes: loss of the working ability due to sickness or injury, the necessity to receive medical or preventive assistance; isolation is necessary in view of quarantine, if according to the medical statement such treatment is necessary for the recovery of the working ability; for taking care of a sick child under the age of 14; for undergoing procedures related to prosthesis or orthosis at an in-patient clinic.
وتمنح استحقاقات المرض للشخص، بصرف النظر عن نوع جنسه، إذا تعذر عليه الحضور للعمل ومن ثم فقد الدخل الذي يكتسبه من العمل المدفوع الأجر؛ أو إذا فقد الشخص العامل لحسابه الخاص دخله للأسباب التالية: فقدان القدرة على العمل بسبب المرض أو الإصابة، وضرورة الحصول على مساعدة طبية أو وقائية؛ أو كان من الضروري عزله في حجر صحي، إذا كان ذلك العلاج ضروريا لاسترداد القدرة على العمل، بناء على شهادة طبية؛ أو للقيام برعاية طفل مريض دون سن 14 عاما؛ أو لإجراء عملية تتعلق بجراحة ترقيعية أو بتقويم العظام في عيادة للمرضى المقيمين.
