Special classes are for hearing, visually, physically or mentally disabled children, for children with speech defects and with multiple disabilities.

“(1) Specialized schools, through special training and educational methods, means and forms, provide upbringing and education to pupils with mental, sensory or physical handicaps, pupils with speech defects, pupils with multiple disabilities, pupils difficult to raise and pupils who are ill and weakened, placed in health care facilities; they prepare these pupils for integration in the work process and the life of the society.
"(1) المادة 28: (1) توفر المدارس المتخصصة عن طريق طرق وأساليب وأشكال التعليم والتدريب الخاصة والتعليم والتربية للتلاميذ الذين يعانون من أوجه إعاقة متعددة والتلاميذ الذين يصعب تربيتهم والتلاميذ المرضى والضعفاء، والمودعين في مرافق الرعاية الصحية؛ وهذه المدارس تعد هؤلاء التلاميذ للانخراط في العمل والاندماج في حياة المجتمع.
In the 1999-2000 academic year, 281, 200 children with special educational needs were enrolled at 1, 944 special (correctional) educational establishments of eight types (for the mentally retarded, for the blind, for those with impaired sight, for the deaf, for those with impaired hearing, for those who become deaf later on, for physically handicapped children, for children with serious speech defects, and for mentally ill children).

Under section 28 of the Schools Act special schools “provide upbringing and education, through special upbringing and educational methods, means and forms, to students who have mental, sensory or physical handicaps, students with speech defects, students with multiple defects, students who are difficult to bring up and students who are ill and weakened, placed in health-care facilities; they prepare these students to be included in the working process and the life of the society.
وبموجب المادة 28 من القانون الخاص بالمدارس "توفر المدارس الخاصة التربية والتعليم عن طريق أساليب ووسائل وأشكال خاصة للتربية والتعليم، لصالح التلاميذ الذين يعانون من إعاقات عقلية أو حسية أو بدنية والتلاميذ الذين يعانون من عيوب في النطق و التلاميذ الذين يعانون من أوجه قصور متعددة والتلاميذ الذين يصعب تربيتهم والتلاميذ المرضى أو الضعفاء المودعين في مرافق الرعاية الصحية؛ وهذه المدارس تعد هؤلاء التلاميذ للانخراط في العمل والاندماج في حياة المجتمع.
“(1) Specialized elementary schools provide upbringing and education to pupils under sections 5 and 6 in a manner commensurate with their disability; they are established as schools for hearing disabled pupils, for visually disabled pupils, for pupils with speech defects, for pupils with physical disabilities, for students with multiple disabilities, for pupils who are difficult to bring up and for pupils who are ill and weakened, placed in health care facilities.
"(1) (توفر المدارس الابتدائية المتخصصة التربية والتعليم للتلاميذِ بموجب المادتين 5 و6 على نحوٍ يتناسب مع أوجه العجز الذي يعانون منه؛ وتنشئ بوصفها مدارس للتلاميذِ المعوقين سمعيا والتلاميذِ المعوقين بصريا والتلاميذِ الذين يعانون من عيوب في النطق والتلاميذ الذين يعانون من أوجه عجزٍ بدنية و التلاميذ المصابين بأوجه الإعاقة المتعددة والتلاميذ الذين يصعب تربيتهم وكذلك التلاميذ المرضى والضعفاء المودعين في مرافق الرعاية الصحية.
