(c) Chiefs of Geographic Cell (P-3 level) for UNMEE, UNAMSIL and MONUC are being selected and are expected to be on board no later than January 2002;

Under the supervision of the Chief, Training Delivery Cell, these officers coordinate and conduct training activities, including workshops, courses and seminars in Member States.

This component would include the Resident Oversight Office, the Legal Affairs Section and the Joint Mission Analysis Cell, whose chiefs would report directly to the Force Commander.

(e) The Chief of the Fuel Cell in UNMIS was the only staff member in Khartoum with the technical knowledge and institutional memory on fuel operations in the Mission.

In addition to the post of the Chief of Cell, the proposed staffing establishment of the Cell would comprise five posts (1 P-2, 3 General Service (Other level) and 1 national General Service staff) and six United Nations Volunteers positions, with the incumbents of four posts (1 P-4, 2 General Service (Other level) and 1 national General Service staff) and three United Nations Volunteers positions deployed at Mission headquarters in Kinshasa.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief, GIS Cell (GISC), the incumbent would be responsible for the overall operating, developing and implementing of the GIS-related matters in terms of logistics in peacekeeping operations; provide geographic/terrain analysis using GIS technology, produce terrain studies and predict the effects of weather, terrain and logistics situations in peacekeeping operations, compile textual, graphic products from text, electronic format of geographic data (vector, raster, satellite images) and other sources of data.
