The Yibir and Midgan are traditionally both hunters and leatherworkers.

They include metalworkers (or “blacksmiths”), potters, musicians/bards (or “griots”), leatherworkers, weavers, barbers/hairdressers and others.

Girls predominate in: textiles, leatherworking, health, social studies, pedagogic and personal services.

Leatherwork for the car's interior is handcrafted in the upholstery shop.

Pakistani women have an almost exclusive responsibility in works such as embroidery, tailoring, weaving, leatherwork, pottery, ceramics and food processing.

They own the culture of beautifying and equipping their household using various artistic works of clay, handcrafts of wood and straw, beadwork, leatherwork, weaving etc.

Through these programmes, unemployed and underemployed people, mainly women, gained skills in various areas, including leatherwork, bead-making, soap production, carpentry, hairdressing, dressmaking, and batik tie-dye.

Over the past seven years, these centres have trained no fewer than 61,000 women in 16 occupations such as dressmaking, knitting, computer skills, printing and secretarial skills, domestic economy, etc., and 20 schools have provided training courses in leatherwork and wood and glass engraving.

The goals and objectives of the organization are: to provide education, skill and experience; to try to safeguard the dignity and rights of the individuals; no discrimination exercised, nor tolerated on the grounds of origin, race, status, and sex; to promote appropriate ethnic and cultural diversity of service; to provide vocational/professional technical training to women in fields of computer, woodwork, leatherwork, embroidery, etc.; to adopt measures to reduce pollution and create awareness to the people; to open dispensaries and medical clinics in the remote areas and provide other social helps to the needy people.
