The methods that the court banned include shaking, the Ashabach (in which an interrogee is forced to sit on a low chair that tilts forward for hours at a time, with his hands tied behind his back, his head covered by a tightly sealed sack and with loud music blasting in his ears), the “frog crouch”, in which the interrogee is forced to crouch on the tips of his fingers and toes for up to five minutes at a time, and sleep deprivation.
