Previously, when it used them as its agents, it called them mujahedeen or freedom fighters and labelled those who fought for freedom, particularly in Africa, as terrorists, guerrillas or rebels.

It was others who completely changed their positions on Nelson Mandela and others. It was others who changed their position on those, such as the mujahedeen, whom they had once called freedom fighters and now are called terrorists.

In New Delhi, the Prime Minister's security adviser reportedly identified two extremist groups that may have been involved in this massacre, namely the Lashkar-e-Toiba and the Hezbul Mujahedeen.

The PST Sub-Directorate has a list of 159 Mujahedeens who were suspected to be involved in other terrorist activities and networks in Europe, Northern Africa and Middle East.
