The unit collaborates with the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired, to support blind and low vision children in schools country wide.

This, specifically, gave rise to the establishment of the low vision visibility unit, a Braille printing unit and the organization of residential summer camps.

The centre headed a campaign for early intervention on visual impairment at all schools in the Gaza Strip; hundreds of pupils came to the recently established low-vision unit for vision testing.

The implementation of the W3C guidelines benefits users with temporary or long-term disabilities, including those who are blind or have low vision, limited mobility or hearing disabilities, and those who require adjustments because of characteristics associated with ageing.

In addition, high-quality specialized care is provided for boys and girls in paediatric intensive care units and in units specialized in cardiovascular surgery, kidneys, paediatrics and early detection of conditions such as phenylketonuria, congenital hypothyroidism, deafness or hypoacousia and low vision.
