G. Ethnolinguistics and indigenous peoples

In addition, the Colombian State has been fostering social processes in ethnolinguistics which have been proposed by the indigenous peoples.

Lastly, the projects established by the Ministry of Culture in the area of ethnolinguistics include the following:

The database is designed to show many attributes, among them, the ethnolinguistics of names of the administrative divisions, many of which are of native origin.

The Committee notes the State party's proposal to replace the 1994 ethnolinguistic map with a new one that was submitted to Congress on 9 February 2009.

(h) Organization of regional forums with leaders of ethnolinguistic groups and officials of various bodies to raise their awareness of the need to deal with the language problem;

He appreciates the challenges the State faces given the sheer size and diversity of the population, including ethnolinguistic and religious groups, the plurality of legal systems, the nature of the federal structure, the high level of crime, widespread poverty (despite the potential enormous wealth from oil revenues) and the conflict in the Niger Delta.
