Israel’s New Realism

In the course of the past year or so, a new realism has been emerging about deliberate diseases.

What all these things tell us is this: interdependence is the new realism of this twenty-first century.

We welcome the new atmosphere of realism.

As a result of the serious setbacks encountered in the past 18 months, there is a new realism emerging about the Biological Weapons Convention regime as well.

This new “hyper-realism” has little in common withold-style realism.

Instead, it is a recognition of the new realism of our current times, which represents the cumulative impact of the globalization of our engagement with each other over many decades.

As proof of this new realism, the government has beentrumpeting its response to the set of policy recommendations thatan expert panel led by the business executive Louis Galloispresented two weeks before the downgrade.
