You're a polytheist, quite devout, right?
أنت مشرك ، متدين جدا ، أليس كذلك؟
Nay ! But you were transgressing people ( disobedient , polytheists , and disbelievers ) .
« وما كان لنا عليكم من سلطان » قوة وقدرة تقهركم على متابعتنا « بل كنتم قوما طاغين » ضالين مثلنا .
Then We drowned the other ( disbelievers and polytheists , etc . ) .
« ثم أغرقنا الآخرين » كفار قومه .
Proclaim openly what you are commanded , and avoid the polytheists .
« فاصدع » يا محمد « بما تؤمر » به أي اجهر به وأمضه « وأعرض عن المشركين » هذا قبل الأمر بالجهاد .

وما كان لنا عليكم من حجة أو قوَّة ، فنصدكم بها عن الإيمان ، بل كنتم -أيها المشركون- قومًا طاغين متجاوزين للحق .
Then We drowned the other ( disbelievers and polytheists , etc . ) .
ثم أغرقنا الآخرين المكذبين من قومه بالطوفان ، فلم تبق منهم عين تَطْرِف .
Proclaim openly what you are commanded , and avoid the polytheists .
فاجهر بدعوة الحق التي أمرك الله بها ، ولا تبال بالمشركين ، فقد برَّأك الله ممَّا يقولون .
Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded , and turn away from the polytheists .
« فاصدع » يا محمد « بما تؤمر » به أي اجهر به وأمضه « وأعرض عن المشركين » هذا قبل الأمر بالجهاد .
Certainly ! We have been Zalimun ( polytheists , wrong-doers and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah , etc . ) . "
« قالوا يا » للتنبيه « ويلنا » هلاكنا « إنا كنا ظالمين » بالكفر .
So they turned to themselves and said : " Verily , you are the Zalimun ( polytheists and wrong-doers ) . "
« فرجعوا إلى أنفسهم » بالتفكر « فقالوا » لأنفسهم « إنكم أنتم الظالمون » بعبادتكم من لا ينطق .
