In Argentina, the National Commission on Space Activities is in charge of carrying out the national space programme, which develops the following three satellite series, depending on what type of main instruments they carry on board: (a) the Scientific Applications Satellite (SAC) series, with instruments for the optical and passive microwave spectra; (b) the Observation and Communications Satellite (SAOCOM) series with active instruments for the microwave spectrum; and (c) the SARE series for both technology validation and Earth sciences objectives.

As part of the programme, three satellite series are being developed, each of which differs according to the type of the main instruments it carried on board: (a) the Scientific Applications Satellite (SAC) series, with instruments for the optical and passive microwave spectra; (b) the Observation and Communications Satellite (SAOCOM) series, with active instruments for the microwave spectrum; and (c) the Satelite de Alta Revisita (SARE) series, which are frequently revisiting satellites both for technology validation and Earth sciences objectives.
وفي الأرجنتين تتولى اللجنة الوطنية للأنشطة الفضائية مهمة تنفيذ البرنامج الفضائي الوطني الذي يجري في إطاره تطوير ثلاث مجموعات من السواتل تختلف تبعاً لنوع الأدوات الرئيسية التي تحملها على متنها وهي: (أ) مجموعة سواتل التطبيقات العلمية التي تزوَّد بأجهزة كشف غير نشطة تعمل في نطاق الطيف البصري وطيف الموجات الصُّغرى؛ و(ب) مجموعة سواتل الرصد والاتصالات، المزوَّدة بمعدات كشف نشطة تعمل في نطاق طيف الموجات الصُّغرى؛ و(ج) مجموعة سواتل "ألتا ريفيسيتا" (Satelite de Alta Revisita)، وهي سواتل تُرسَلُ تكرارا إلى الفضاء من أجل التحقق من صحة التكنولوجيا والقيام بأبحاث في مجال علوم الأرض.
