• The project “Contestation of Globalization: In Search for New Modes of Global Governance” — a joint venture of UNU, UNESCO and the University of Lausanne — approaches these challenges from the perspective of failures in global governance.

• These strategic focuses interrelate with three key elements that cut across the entire agricultural and forestry production process: participation, as a permanent feature of the entire decision-making process; information, as an essential part of the globalization process and new modes of production; and organization, which is a crucial factor in efforts to restructure the agricultural sector to ensure access to services provided by sectoral institutions.
