• In order to counteract this, the Government took the decision in the fall of 1999 to introduce a “Berufs-Impulsjahr” (career guidance year) for girls and women aiming on the one hand at assisting girls in the choice of an occupation and on the other at supporting women to return to work after having left their job because of family responsibilities.
