Hello! I'm trying to analyze the construction of the superlative in arabic.
The phrase in question
is أَوْهَنَ ٱلْبُيُوتِ ('awhana l-buyuti), meaning "the weakest of homes."
My analysis:
This is an idaafa construction and the genitive case marker is one kasra. The word „l-buyuti“ is definite and in plural, hence the adjective takes on a substantive meaning and the comparative goes into the superlative.
Am I correct? Or how can I put it better?
